These are some of our programmes we designed:

Connected
Peer-to-Peer Mentoring
We have developed a package of support which will enable local authorities to set up their local peer-to-peer mentoring programme. This was intially piloted in Oxfordshire County Council during COVID-19, in order to support isolated young people. The programme has ex-care experienced people (who are 25+ years old) who are mentors to confidentially talk to the care experienced young person in order to speak to a peer about challenges they have found or share in order to inspire and motivate the current care leaver who may be facing difficult times. The design of the programme matched mentors with young people with shared interests in order to bulid an authentic reletionship bulit on trust. This programme has offered successful motivation to those young people who have since been inspired to continue or return to higher education. It also helped a young person bulid up their confidence in applying to roles, by speaking to a peer mentor, mutual respect and shared experience was understood and valued.Contact us to find out more

Peer-to-peer evaluation of Children Homes
We have created an "Ofsted" inspired inspection on residential homes which house future/current care experienced young people. We ask current or previous care experienced young people to review the premises and provide them with a report with a grading based on our review. We hope that by having young people care experieneced who we call "listeners" come in and view the environmnet of the young people, the actions are taken forward in order to continously improve the environment. We know from direct personal experience that ensuring the right enviornment is fundimental for insuring a successful independency for care experienced young people.Contact us to find out more

Business Champions
Local Business work experience taster sessions
Employment for young people is difficult in this current climate and for care experienced young people they have additional barriers to overcome. Due to navigating childhood and adolence stage some care experienced individuals don't necessarily meet the grades in education to move them into employment. With this, confidnece can be knocked however, with our programme we aim to repair their self-esteem in taster days of work experience, which will in turn present to them work experience and real-life exposure to what employment would be like. We work with local businesses to draft a local offering of work expeirences catalogue and we do training with the local businesses to equip them with the right knowledge in order to ensure the work experience is as sucessful for all. Our business champions programme has provided care experienced young people with paid employment following on from their experience, which we are really proud.Contact us to find out more

Local Offer Re-design
Co-produced Care Experienced lead redesign of the local offer
A local offer is a statutory obligation for local authorities to provides information and support services available to care leavers in their local area. 'Local offer' is a term from the national government. However, many of the local authoritie's local offer is difficult for young people to access or locate and even understand. As the language in the local offer is written in business speak which is difficult for a young person to intepret. We offer councils an opportunity for us to work with both your care experienced young people and your PAs to ensure the local offer is capturing everything it needs. We will redesign the local offe, to make it accessible, readable and attractive to all.Contact us to find out more
